Não existe na legislação trabalhista qualquer dispositivo que assegure ao trabalhador o direito de paralisar suas atividades ou de se ausentar do trabalho durante os jogos da Copa do Mundo, sem prejuízo da sua remuneração.
Desta forma, se um empregador não permitir que os empregados ausentem-se do serviço para acompanhar as transmissões estará simplesmente fazendo valer o contrato de trabalho firmado, sem qualquer ofensa ao mesmo.
